Disney movies in order of historical setting

(Excludes most of the package films. Some films, eg The Lion King, are impossible to pin down exactly and some, like Aladdin and Treasure Planet, are anachronistic, so these are estimations. A few have been split into 2 if there is more than one time period in the movie, and sequels have been put together.)

Reminder that Castiel is a powerful, multi-dimensional wave of celestial intent the size of the Chrysler building that can end lives and tear down worlds with a flick of his wrist…

and all it takes to give him pause is one touch from Dean.

Every Character I LoveJessica Day (New Girl)

“I brake for birds. I rock a lot of polka dots. I have touched glitter in the last 24 hours. I spend my entire day talking to children, and I find it fundamentally strange that you’re not a dessert person, that’s just weird and it freaks me out! And I’m sorry I don’t talk like Murphy Brown, and I hate your pant suit, I wish it had ribbons on it or something to make it just slightly cuter. And that doesn’t mean I’m not smart, and tough, and strong! And my checks have baby farm animals on them, bitch!”

For fifty years, you were my favorite poem and I’d read you every night knowing I might never understand every word but that’s okay – ‘cause the lines of you were the closest thing to holy I’d ever heard.

In the United States, access to tampons and pads for low-income women is a real problem, too: food stamps don’t cover feminine hygiene products, so some women resort to selling their food stamps in order to pay for “luxuries” like tampons. Women in prison often don’t have access to sanitary products at all, and the high cost of a product that half the population needs multiple times a day, every month for approximately 30 years, is simply, well, bullshit.

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody suggest that toilet paper or paper towels in public bathrooms shouldn’t be free.  We’d consider it outrageous if that very basic necessity were to be missing, or provided only for purchase.

And yet.

Poem From the Feminist to the Non-Feminist

writingsforwinter:

Men are afraid women will take a sledgehammer to their heart
and refuse a drink and a night in bed.
Women are afraid men will take a sledgehammer to their head
if they refuse the drink and a night in bed.
You call this just how life is?
I call it a civil war.
We are…
